Every year questions arise regarding care of sidewalks--believe it or not during both summer and winter timeframes.  Here are some brief guidelines to assist you.

Owners or occupants of an abutting lot and land in the Village shall keep the sidewalk in front of and along their respective lot in good repair and free of nuisance from snow, mud,  or other filth.  Owners or occupants shall need to remove all snow, ice, and dirt from the sidewalks along or in front of their respective property within twelve hours after any snowfall or within two (2) hours after being notified by the Village to remedy a situation.  

 Violations are considered a minor misdemeanor.  However it is more important we check on our neighbors health and well being and assist wherever possible to keep our Village in good repair.
